Nhaka Foundation, Zimbabwe
Nhaka Foundation channels long-term aid to preschools utilizing early learning centers/preschools as an entry point. We focus particularly on the needs of orphans and vulnerable children. ECD centers serve as an entry point to the community for OVC and HIV/AIDS initiatives. The focus population consists of families containing orphans and vulnerable children in economically deprived rural areas with a high prevalence of HIV/AIDS.
LED Hut have just started thier project with the Nhaka Foundation which will provide over 1,000 children with education and food. Having just set up the first kitchen, the plan is to develop learning and feeding centres in 6 schools with the vision to then branch out into more rural areas.
