Can I use Christmas lights outdoors?

Only use lights marked suitable for outdoor use. Check the instructions for the plug, transformer, controller and connections, as these may need different protection or an indoor location.

How do I choose the right length of lights?

Compare illuminated length as well as total cable length. The lead from the plug to the first light may not be illuminated. Allow for the route to the power source and the spacing you want across your tree or display.

Will warm white lights from different sets match?

Not necessarily. Colour descriptions can vary between brands and ranges. Use matching sets from the same range where consistency matters, and compare the Kelvin specification if one is provided.

Can I connect several sets together?

Only connect sets specifically designed to be linked, using compatible components and staying within the stated maximum load or number of sets. Ordinary separate light strings should not be modified to join them together.

Are timers, batteries and controllers included?

Check the individual product's contents and power requirements. Timer functions, lighting modes, battery inclusion and supplied controllers vary by set; do not assume every set has the same features.
